Caitlin (Katie) grew up in St. Simons Island, Georgia. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS!!) where she majored in Food and Nutrition Science. Katie then obtained her Bachelors of Science of Nursing from the College of Coastal Georgia. Katie then received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Augusta University, where she specialized in Pediatric Primary Care.
Katie began her nursing career in Charlotte, North Carolina at Levine's Children's Hospital, where she worked on a general pediatric floor for 4 years before returning back to Georgia for school. She then worked at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta as a float pool nurse, where she went to all of the general pediatric (sometimes PICU) floors on all three campuses. This exposed her to a variety of illnesses and ailments, as well as chronic needs of children while in the hospital.
Katie's special interests include promoting healthy lifestyles, orthopedics or sports injury prevention, and endocrinology. Katie loves kids of all ages, especially early childhood. In her freetime, Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends, her two dogs (Riggs and Porter), or reading books. When not working, she can be found cheering on the Braves, the Dawgs, Atlanta United or the PGA tour (basically any and all sports)!
